And you may notice from the happy little logo there on the left, I have switched hosting over from GoDaddy to Dash Systems. Hopefully this will solve all of the previous problems.
Please bear with me as I rename/describe all the images in the galleries.
Thanks for your patience!

Somehow this year seems to be a stronger marker than 2010, for all that 2010 has a much more appealing set of numbers (don’t ask I get these weird number fixations, and man, 2010 was beautiful), I have now been my own business for a year! I have this fantastic new website (Thanks Kevin) and am looking forward to another year full of work, conventions, travel, and hopefully getting to see some friends and family as well.
Thank you all for your support throughout my time as an artist, it is greatly appreciated, and hope all of your hopes for the New Year come true!

Look at that! Shiney new website, with art, and functional galleries and all sorts of fun and amazing stuff that websites should generally have.
As it is still NEW! Please, let me know if you have any problems with it, or see any problems, may still be bugs to catch.

My galleries seem to have gone to that place where bad things go. Perhaps in a handbasket.
With any luck this will be resolved shortly. Failing that, the new site should be up in the next week or so.
Thank you for your patience and if you feel like dealing with otherwise hosted online galleries, please see my work on facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Laura-Garabedians-Artwork/212014834464) or on deviantart (http://lauragarabedian.deviantart.com/)

Due to a few artists who I greatly respect reviewing my work and pricing and consternation thereafter, my prices WILL be going up. I was going to do it a week after AC, but I wanted to warn everyone, in case you were thinking of getting anything, so the price jump should hit next weekend. The biggest concern my artist friends had were the badges, so they will be jumping the most but everything is going up some. Will post more progress, and shtuff soon. Cheers! Laura

Soooooes…. for those of you that want to know how A-Kon went.
Well, I went into it knowing it was going to be a learning experience, it was my first Anime Con. Both to go to and to sell at (whee)! So didn’t really know what would sell best and what I should bring. So I prepped. By prepping I made magnets, got a new display for the magnets, which I tested at home, made prints of a lot of my originals, and added more originals to my book, made a new binders specifically for my skulklan work, as there got to be too much of it and I wanted to seperate it from my originals for sale binder, and ran off a lot of ACEO prints that I needed to have extras of. Oh, yeah, and I made stickers.
Verdict from all of this was that the display didn’t work when I got to A-kon (I don’t know, guess there is too much aluminum in the metal so the magnets didn’t stick AND it wasn’t readily apparent that they were magnets, so I really need a better way to do that). The stickers sold really well! I should print more! Some prints still never made it in the binder, which was unfortunate and I don’t know what happened to them. My ACEO’s were a hit, and the Editions were really popular (CHEAP) so I had to reprint quite a few. I NEED to get a button maker… need need need. They will sell. Read more... 13th of March. SO! Today, we were supposed to get up at 8, be gone by 9 to go to the armory museum. Well, I got up at 8, thought I probably misremembered the time and maybe we were supposed to be up at 9. And 9 rolls by, 9:15, it gets to 9:30 and I figure maybe I’ll wake her up, then I hear her talking (and it doesn’t sound like sleep talking) So around 9:45 she comes out and apologizes profusely. apparently there is a transportation strike so she has been on the phone with John for the last 45 minutes trying to figure out transportation, as he is in Rome and needs to figure out how to get back to Torino. We don’t end up leaving until 11 because he keeps calling back with questions. We get to the square (after realizing that the tram we wanted wasn’t running due to the strike had to take an alternate tram) and it is filled with police with riot gear and protesters in favor of the strike… After a brief look and a WHOA WTF? Moment we found a empty way to get to the museum and got in. So – since I am under 25 I got in as a student (2 Euro) and Kaity was 4, the lady was very apologetic. I was thinking REALLY! Even 4 Euro is a fabulous price for a decent museum. And this was FANTASTIC! The entryway was all marble and frescoes and lovely and then we saw the no photos sign! SAD! So the gallery was filled with fabulous taxedermied horses, rows upon rows of swords/armor/guns/etc. and it was all SO intricate, and elaborate and beautiful. Then we saw one of the guys who worked there talking to a man who was taking pictures with his son and figured cool… well. He let us take a couple and then told us no
Sad. And annoying. The other man took a TON of photos. Boo. Anyhow. When we left (around 1:30) the museum was supposed to be closing at 2. But I guess they were tired of working, the old man and his buddy followed us out and locked the doors ?? Weird. We were about to go into the royal palace and john called and needed Kaity to go back to the house to get some paperwork ready so they could go to the courthouse to get one last thing finalized. So we go back, spend about an hour and realize that the courthouse closes at 1:45 on Fridays so no way. Oh well. At this point we just have some lunch and wait for John to get home. Once he did, we went out, and visited Kaity’s favorite statue, tortured souls looking to climb this huge mountain of rock to the pinnacle where an angel is. Very pretty. Then perused some shops in the piazza – I got a small ball of cheese, and Kaity got some calligraphy pens. Took lots of pictures of a cool museum, some light posts, and tons of architecture, and headed home. Ran to the grocery store for supplies for dinner (spinach and mushroom lasagna) Made dinner (OMNOMNOM) and watched big bang theory.
